Hello again šš¼
Iām back to bringing you some pop culture news (mainly music and TV)!
Coach Lasso Is Back!
If youāre like me, who fell in love with Ted Lasso and his constant optimism and have been waiting forever for news of when the third season will drop on Apple TV+, you might have been just as happy as me when it was announced that the show would return this March.
Once a Niall Girl, Always a Niall Girl
Since my One Direction days, Iāve always been a Niall girl, and you can bet that I continue to be now in my late twenties.
That being saidā¦
Niall Horan finally dropped his single āHeavenā and announced the title and release date for his third album, The Show.
Itās been some time (feels like an eternity) since Niall dropped new music, and now that itās here, thereās no stopping me from having it on repeat.
Artist On Repeat: āØOmar ApolloāØ
Omar Apollo also released new music this week with his single, ā3 Boysā.
If you havenāt listened to Omarās music, you need to get on it NOW. His debut album, Ivory, has been a constant in my life, and I find myself listening to it almost every day. The sound on this record plays with different genres and ranges from indie to alternative and R&B to hip-hop.
But my personal favorite, āEn El Olvidoā, takes me back to my childhood when I would wake up to the sound of my mom playing her favorite Mexican artists loud on the CD player and listening to their strong and melodic voices fill my home.
*sigh* Those were the daysā¦ š¶
Hereās a live performance Omar did for NPRās Tiny Desk Concert during Latinx Heritage Month, where he opens with that song. The vocals and the addition of Las Mariachis Lindas are just 10/10.
Trailer(s) You Might Have Missed
The Little Mermaid
After so much waiting (and a tiny sneak peek), a new look at Disneyās The Little Mermaid was revealed with a new trailer. The live-action version of the film, which features Halle Bailey (Ariel), Daveed Diggs (Sebastian), Javier Bardem (King Triton), and more, is released on May 26.
Daisy Jones & The Six
When it comes to reading, depending on the story, it can either take me two days or an entire month to finish a book. But when I discovered Taylor Jenkins Reid's book, Daisy Jones & The Six, I finished that story in one night.
And now, the book is a series set to release on Prime Video on March 3.
āØ this must be the end of the newsletter
Iām off to prepare for tonightās episode of The Last of Us, which will, of course, have me crying (like Iāve been doing every week). Keep an eye out for the next newsletter, and until then, have a fantastic week!
