This newsletter is very late... but Spider-Man tickets, Spotify Wrapped, finals week, and much more
Buying these tickets reminded me of when I was in high school and how stressed I had been in trying to score One Direction concert tickets.
The Thanksgiving holiday weekend rolled on by but the one thing that has stayed is the leftovers and I cannot tell you how much leftover stuffing I have been eating these past few days.
But aside from Thanksgiving and the ✨wonderful✨ conversations we all had at the table, I hope each and every one of you was able to spend some time with your family in the comfort of your home.
With the holiday over, we go back to our everyday schedules and I bring you another newsletter of the many things that had happened last week…? this week…? both? From the Disney+ premiere of Hawkeye to Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets selling out like it was a concert to the sad passing of the legendary theatre composer Stephen Sondheim, I cover it all.
(note: I wrote some of this a bit after Thanksgiving and it’s been two weeks, so some things may be ‘old news’ but nevertheless, still good to know!)
🗞 this must be the news

Sweden Elected Their First Female Prime Minister

🎵 this must be the music
I have no idea why it took me forever to listen to this album because it was one that I was looking forward to but I finally got around to listening to Silk Sonic’s An Evening With Silk Sonic.
If you love some good funk, soul, R&B, and pop tunes, then you definitely need to listen to this amazing record. Track after track, the album effortlessly continues to take you on a ride and the funk never stops!
In continuing my talk on music, the annual Spotify Wrapped had finally been released, and is it a surprise that Taylor Swift was my top artist? Not at all! I’m also not surprised to see that Sigrid came in at No. 2 and my top song came from Sigrid with her song “Never Mine.”
🌸 this must be the part where I talk about pop culture
Anyone else dealt with the stress of trying to score tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home? Because if so, let’s discuss!
Tickets for the new Spider-Man film became available on Cyber Spider-Monday and depending on where you lived, at least on the east coast, tickets went live at midnight — so precisely November 28th at 12 AM.
I had the AMC app opened on my phone and Twitter opened on my iPad as I spoke with my friend Gabby trying to figure out seats, times, and theatre options. We ended up choosing to see the film in Dolby and at 3 PM. We chose this time because we naively thought that at around this time there wouldn’t be that many people as there would be for a late-night showing.
Well, we were clowns! 🤡
Because as soon as it was my turn to pick tickets, the theatre and time that we chose were filling up fast. I kid you not, in trying multiple seats, I would see on the app that the other seats were being claimed and my stress was skyrocketing at this point.
Luckily though, I was able to pick some good seats and my friend and I will be seeing the film on the 16th. I cannot even put into words how excited I am for this film. I get so emotional just thinking about it that I know I’ll be crying at the end of the movie. And yes, I do plan on taking before and after pictures of my experience watching this film. So stay tuned my friends…
Update: Today is December 13 and I see Spidey in three days! I could cry right now.
🎓 this must be the academic life
It’s finals week over here for me and I cannot even tell you how tired I am. With readings, interviews, meetings, I am exhausted. The number of assignments that I’m trying to get done has just consumed me this month and I cannot wait for Christmas to finally come around because I will finally get to rest.
Other than that, I will say that I am excited to finish these last assignments because I’ve been working on them for such a long time now so it’ll be nice to see the end product. Wish me luck!
✨ this must be the end of the newsletter
