Goodbye spooky season, hello to getting closer to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home!
The countdown to Christmas begins and I cannot wait to watch The Holiday every weekend.
Hi, friends!
Usually, I have this newsletter up around 12-ish every Monday but today has been a slightly busy day and so, here I am currently typing it up as I try to remember everything that happened last week.
Anyways, hope you all had a great Halloween and an amazing time last week! That being said, here’s the newsletter.
👻 this must be the end of spooky season
Spooky season has come to an end and though I didn’t dress up for Halloween (not that I really ever have), I will say I had a great plate of fish and chips. The only thing missing was my annual viewing of Clue and the Psych episode “Tuesday the 17th.”
🎓 this must be the academic life
If I were to say that school was going well, I would partially be telling you the truth. I was able to finish one of my midterm essays on time (1,000 words and I finished that over the weekend) and I got some great remarks on a podcast that I have been working on for one of my classes (yay!). But I’m also dealing with some anxiety over what you may ask? I have no clue! I know that I’m anxious over my assignments and other things in my personal life but I can’t pinpoint what exactly it is that is making me go 😬
But the things that have helped me relax when I’m feeling overwhelmed have been cups of tea and giving myself time to breathe and just relax. I don’t know if it’s just me but I’ve always struggled with giving myself a break because I’ve always said my mind moves at like 500 mph. I’m constantly needing to work because I get bored very easily and working distracts me from my boredness.
But when I force myself to take a physical and mental break, it does pay off for me in the long run so this is my reminder to those of you who are reading this that when there’s that small window to take a break, take it and recharge because you deserve it!
🎵 this must be the music
Ok, let’s talk about music!
I’ve been so busy this week that I haven’t had the time to check and see if there has been any new music that has been released but I will say that when I did get the time, I noticed that LÉON released a new song.
“Soaked” has a fun and upbeat tempo but it’s also relaxing at the same time and I definitely recommend you take a listen.
Also, speaking of LÉON, her album Apart was released a year ago on October 30th and when I tell you that this record got me through the early months of quarantine, it literally had me getting things done (and of course a crying mess).
Definitely take a listen to Apart because not only is it a record that has different sounds but it’s a beautiful album that deals with love, loss, moving on, and acceptance.
🌸 this must be the part where I talk about pop culture
I feel like every time I talk about pop culture I’m always talking about Marvel and do I regret one minute of it? Not one bit.
So, let’s talk about Marvel…
If you’re on Twitter then you know that Spider-Man: No Way Home has been trending like crazy almost every day. Last week, new pictures and rumors keep circling the bird app and it’s driving me insane (in a good way of course!).
Like this new picture of Doc Ock and Spidey
and just today THIS PICTURE I AM SCREAMING!!!!!
If any of you are big Spider-Man fans like me, just know… I see you and hear you because I too am so nervous/excited for this film and I can accurately tell you right now that when I’m sitting in the theatre on December 17th, I will be sobbing.
✨ this must be the end of the newsletter
Thanks so much for taking the time in reading my newsletter! Keep an eye out for the next one and until then, have an amazing week!
